TV on DVD
Neat piece at Slate about watching TV on DVD.
It nicely tracks with my own evolution in TV. As a teenager, I watched lots. In college, I didn't watch much at all, and kept up the trend until maybe a year ago, when I started watching The West Wing on DVD. Since then, I watch maybe six hours a week, but it's tightly focused: two or three episodes of West Wing, or a night of Deadwood. Where will all this lead? I think to downloadable video and simultaneous release of broadcast, download, and DVD options.
But who knows, really?
