Fox News has long claimed to be "Fair and Balanced™" They've even sued Al Franken for using "fair and balanced" in the title of his book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right.
But they can't hide their lies forever, and they've finally gone on record: they will lie to our faces any time they want, and they will defend their legal right to do so.
Project Censored reports that Fox News ordered Jane Akre and Steve Wilson to present false and misleading information as fact. They refused, and were fired.
They sued Fox under Florida's whistleblower protection laws, and won. But the verdict was overturned on appeal: Fox News argued that they have no legal obligation to tell the truth, and the judge agreed.
Fox has now sued Akre and Wilson seeking to recoup the legal cost of defending their right to lie: $1.7 million.
