10c

After sitting on the 10a/b plateau for the better part of a year, I've finally started moving up again. All those end-of-workout laps are paying off. (Plus I'm healthy, and cross-training like a madman...)

Last Saturday, I knocked off a mostly-vertical 10c crimpfest on the second try. (The thing was right up my alley: mostly emphasizing balance and technique, rather than crazy high-steps or feats of strength.)

This Saturday, I finally nailed another 10c I'd been working on. For the last couple of weeks, I've had the moves, I just couldn't put them together, so it was great to finally get the whole thing start to finish. In the end, it felt extremely easy. I'm tempted to metally downgrade the thing, but the more I think about it, the more I agree with the 10c rating. The easy way isn't obvious, and the moves are very technical. Bully the thing, and it drops you hard. Use everything you know (well, everything I know), and don't waste any energy, and it's a fun little climb.

Those two were shorter, 20' climbes. Another 45-footer is just about ready to fall. I have all the moves, just need to put 'em together...
