More on NetFlix's Stupidity
Over the weekend, my mom lost the password to her NetFlix account (which is a gift account), and asked me to talk to NetFlix about it and see if I could fix it.
It turns out that unless you're logged in, you have absolutely no way of contacting NetFlix through their website. And if you've lost your password, you have no way to log in. And if you're the holder of a gift account, you have no way to retrieve your password. You have to call the customer service number, which they won't tell you.
So, the bottom line: a user who has lost the password to their gift account not only can't retrieve their password, but can't even let NetFlix know there's a problem. The only way around this catch-22 is the customer service number, which NetFlix doesn't give out.
