Training Log: 48 min. Run
Well, that was interesting. Despite the howling winds that nearly stopped me in my tracks a few times, it's a warm, clear, lovely night, and I managed to run 4.5 miles in 48 minutes. Not too shabby. I feel like I'm actually getting back to my old self as far as running goes: I like climbing, I'm learning to relax on the downhills (though I still have to be careful not to put too much impact on my knee), and a few times it actually felt like my legs were swinging under me, rather than carrying me along. Nice.
So while this was an interesting experience, I'm not going out in the wind again. Uphill, against 20mph winds sucks. Now, it sucks in a way that I kind of enjoy, but I don't enjoy it enough that I won't decide to hit the treadmill next time.
Oh, and I did feel my right arch complaining at the very end of the run, maybe the last ¼ mile. It really didn't like the extra pronation going around right-hand turns or on driveways. Something to watch next time.
