Motivation
Wow. I've been catching up on my favorite cycling blogs, and it's proven to be a powerful motivator. Back in December, I decided I wanted to do a two-week backpacking trip with NOLS, and discovered what a powerful motivator that was. Alas, I doubt I'll be able to do that trip, and I'm looking for something else (something cheaper) to work toward.
So it's been great fun reading about riding in the Susitna 100, a bike race across frozen Alaskan wilderness, and 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo, from the perspectives of Chris, of Slip Angle, and pro rider Adam Lisonbee.
Tales of the climbing bum life have reminded me of all the things I want to do with climbing, all the reasons I hit the gym twice a week. And the Dirt Diva is getting in shape to spend three months hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada.
And seeing a stage of the Tour of California was fantastic.
All this makes me think that my friends and I have been up to far too little. Time to start making plans.
