Rolled Ankle
I'm getting pretty good at this. I rolled my ankle last night at the climbing gym. (That's what I get for bouldering. Feh!) Went immediately home and applied the RICE treatment: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Swelling seems to be under control, but I'm still worried. (Can you blame me?)
I can stand on it, but walking is out of the question, which scares me. Just for grins, I'm checking in with a sports doctor this afternoon to make sure there's no structural damage.
The good news is, I've found a sports doctor close to home, and I have a good feeling about him already: I told the receptionist I rolled my ankle while bouldering, and she asked, "Were you using a crash pad?" These are my people.
I've also got a line on a physical therapist who's also a triathlete. So I think I'm good there if I need PT.
In the meantime, my ankle is wrapped, and I'm staying off it until I head off for my appointment with the doc. Just tracing the alphabet with my toe, to keep things mobile.
