Continuing Rehab

Had a good night at the gym last night. My ankle is healing up nicely: no ibuprofen, and no pain during my workout. But it's complaining a bit this morning, so it's back to being pampered: ibuprofen with meals to kill the soreness and get some anti-inflammatory effect going, and ice when I get home tonight. (Well, if I don't spin first.)

On the weights, I was aiming for a back, shoulder, and bicep workout with plenty of instability to keep my core activated. Unfortunately, I was over-ambitious, and went too big. I had to call it quits after only about 20 minutes. Next time, I'll take everything down a notch, and get a bearing on where I'm at. Plus, I'm just looking to lean up and maintain strength, so going big isn't a good idea: my old workouts were geared toward training for size, and that's not at all what I want these days. Time to rethink.

Oddly, I certainly have less raw strength than when I first started climbing, yet I'm climbing 2+ grades harder than I was then. That's the power of technique, kids: do more with less.

And my weight is still dropping. I'm usually a little more than a pound heavy in the morning, and I weighed in at 193lbs even. Woo!
