Weekend Wrap-Up
Krav Maga class went well on Saturday. My ankle still isn't 100%, but really Krav is the only time I notice. So 98% it is.
Since this session was a "pre test" session for those interested in testing next month, I kind of expected a skills-focused class. Not so. Plenty of work to do, and the intensity of a regular class kept up for the full two hours.
Which made me very greatful that I had a full two hours before meeting Timbo and Darrell at Stoney Point. I got into some fresh clothes, and parked my butt at Baja Fresh for an hour to rest.
I got to Stoney early, and discovered that the Boy Scouts had occupied the entire north side. On a normal day, this would have meant aborting the trip. But, since it was nearly 2pm, we got lucky: they were just wrapping up their last rappels, and I could set up the anchor once they'd torn down. Darrell arrived as I was finishing up my anchor setup (I'm out of practice), and Timbo arrived a bit after that. Perfect.
We got in a fun few climbs (3-4 each), then headed for dinner and Spiderman 3. The movie was great, but tried to cover a lot of ground. Still worth the price of admission though.
(Sidenote: the local theater has gotten enough of a clue to start serving coffee, but they're still not completely there: the coffee itself was terrible, and they offered only powdered creamer. Plus, some idiot stocked the sugar packet holder with salt. So it was bad coffee and powdered creamer only. This with a Starbucks next door. Ugh.)
Today, I'm sore all over, tired, and enjoying watching the NHL playoffs.
