Took my mountain bike out for a short trail ride this afternoon. Lots and lots of climbing for such a short time. I definitely want to get a ride in this week, but I'd like to cover some more ground. Today's ride was just under 8 miles, and it's just no fun slogging around the same two square miles. Great workout, though.

Toward the end of the ride, I took a wrong turn onto what I thought was the Long Canyon trail back to the parking lot. Instead, it took me down a couple hundred feet in altitude to a locked gate where the fire road met a neighborhood street. Not even a gate for pedestrians. So, I turned around, climbed back up to the trail, and headed down the correct trail, which was a fun descent. A few hikers out today, but I think I only saw two other mountain bikers.
