Endurance Mountain Biking!

Oh boy! Great morning for reading about lunatic bikers! Jill at "Up in Alaska" has entered the 2008 Iditarod Invitational, and will race 350 miles on the Iditarod Trail from Anchorage, Alaska to McGrath. In February. This means lots of great training blogging, and her account of last year's Susitna 100 was exceptional.

And Chris at "Slip Angle" has posted an inspiring account of his performance at 24 Hours of Moab. Really moving stuff.

And me, I'm still rockin' the 3-hour trail ride. Just to give you an idea of what these people are doing. My biggest trail ride yet, which wore me out and left me hungry and sore for days, covered just 25 miles, and 1500 vertical feet. In his 12 laps at 24Moab, Chris covered 180 miles and 16000 vertical feet, riding nonstop for 23½ hours. Yes, kids, if you train hard enough, you can become a superhero.
