It Pays to be Organized
It doesn't matter how important it is. Envelopes from the bank get recycled without even being opened. Reminders from magazines to renew my subscription go completely ignored. (Though they do get piled on my kitchen counter.) I do everything online. If not for the internet, I'd be in debtor's prison.
So today I finally started going through the acumulated mail. Credit card offers got shredded immediately. Likewise with stuff from the Alumni Assoc. Bank statements got collected and stowed (still unopened) in the appropriate file in my file cabinet.
But the thin one from the State of California, that caught my eye. Inside I found a check for $242.37. My rebate from Gov. Ahnold's decree that I shouldn't have to be systematically sodomized by the DMV every year.
My mom always said it pays to be organized.
