iPhone Questions

I'm sold on the iPhone. I got to play with one over the weekend, and it was awesome. Wonderful. I'm just waiting until version 2 comes out. (I really should be super good about money for a while anyway.)

But, there are a few questions I have about the iPhone, and I'm putting them here so that I can remember to research them one by one.

Does the iPod Camera Connector work with the iPhone?
Can I use the iPhone in conjunction with an Eye-Fi card?
Can I batch/auto upload photos to Flickr?
Can I batch/auto upload photos to my blog?
If I buy songs/videos/whatever from iTunes via the phone, will those transfer to my main computer when I sync?
Does the iPhone have GPS? (No.) Can I connect a Bluetooth GPS unit?
What's Google Maps's performance like over AT&T's network?
The iPhone runs OS X. When it's connected to my home wireless network, can I ssh to it? Can I ssh out from it?
Can I connect a portable Bluetooth keyboard?
Can I use my laptop as a portable bluetooth keyboard?
Can I connect my laptop to the 'net through the iPhone?

Obviously, a lot of these are giant "NO"s. But I ask this kind of stuff in the hope that the answers will change for the better with iPhone 2.0.

Update 11/29/07: More Questions

Can I use songs from my iTunes library as ringtones?
If not, can I get around that somehow?
Can I sync the calendar on my iPhone with Google Calendar? (TWO-way sync?)

A lot of those are a giant "NO" for the iPhone but not for the Treo... :P
Yeah, but then we get to the question, "Is it a giant ugly-ass brick with a tiny screen, and requiring a stylus?" and the iPhone comes out so far ahead that all the questions above are just details. For me, none of my questions above are deal breakers. I've already picked my next phone; I'm just curious about what it can do now, and It'll be interesting to see what Apple adds for the next version.

You and I consistently pick our gadgets on different criteria-- I like features, but not at the expense of polish. You don't care about polish at all. C'est la vie.

Ya, let's also not forget that your definition of electronic polish and mine are different. I like the PalmOS interface. On the other hand there's no way you can convince me that a stylus is bad. Fingers are clunky. Styli are not. I _HATE_ that the Crackberry has just a jogwheel/joystick. I like that my Treo gives me the opportunity and the ability to use my 5-way and my stylus. Again, fingers are clunky, hence why the iPhone needs a big iScreen and big iButtons or else no one could use it.

That being said, long live the Treo! And off with her head!

Sure, you could say that if the screen were smaller, nobody would want to use it. Or you could say that it's big enough that you don't need that clunky stylus thingie.

I'm not totally sold that the touch-only interface is the way to go. I like that I can run my current phone by muscle memory, without having to look at it. But know I like the iPhone's interface and features way more than anything else out there. I think the bottom line is that on such a small device, you have to make compromises. There is no One True Interface.
