Weight Training
I hit the weights last night, and I'm glad I did. I'd forgotten how great I feel after a good weight session.
After trying partner squats as Jiu Jitsu a couple weeks ago, I've seen the light and permanently replaced dumbell squats with regular shoulder squats. Greatest exercise ever. I could feel every muscle from my back through my heels activating and twitching to keep me in balance. Just awesome.
But I tired very quickly. I've been neglecting high-intensity strength training lately, and it shows. I don't have the explosive strength or raw power I used to. I can go all day at 75% of my strength capacity, but crank it up to 85+, and I gas out quick. Gotta fix that.
I need high-intensity cardio and strength training. This means intervals. This means full-body explosive movements. Sounds a lot like a typical Crossfit workout...
