Yoga

Tuesday's Yoga class was fantastic. I (wisely) dogged a lot of it in order to save my strength for Wednesday's bike ride, but it felt great, so I returned last night intent on really giving all I had.

It kicked my ass. Dozens of slow sit-ups. Low planks that never ended. Today, I'm having trouble holding myself upright. But my hips and legs are loose and strong, and my knee feels great.

The teacher is great, but the Tuesday-Thursday schedule doesn't work for me: those are Krav/BJJ nights.

I'm impressed enough with the benefits that I want to make Yoga a consistent part of my weekly routine, but finding the time will be a challenge. What I need is an early morning (7am) class I can do before work.

There is what looks like a great Yoga studio about a block from my apartment, but the schedule seems tailored for those without day jobs. For reasons beyond comprehension, this seems to be the norm in Simi Valley.

So I just ordered a DVD. It's with Rodney Yee, whom I've seen before, and know is awesome. We'll see if I actually get my ass out of bed and do this. My bet is "no" but so be it. It's $10, so if I don't use it regularly, no biggie.

I just wish there was a real class that fit my schedule. Now that I'm used to getting up early, I'd really like to stick with it through the summer.
