Sore & Itchy
Krav & Jiu Jitsu last night were tough. Lots of abdominal and kicking work in Krav, and a 260lb. parter in Jiu Jitsu. (We switch up partners, but still.) Today I feel it pretty much everywhere.
But I just had some really good sushi for lunch, and I'm looking forward to a healthy dinner and a night of rest.
I've got the itch to revisit my Cheeseboro - Alberson - Simi Peak ride from a few weeks ago. It was a great ride, with plenty of spectacular scenery, and some of the best climbing around.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to do it any time soon: I'm off to Santa Barbara this weekend for the Vintners' Festival, and next weekend is the Wildflower Century (I'm just doing the 70-mile option.)
I'm planning to take next week off from Krav and BJJ to heal some nagging toe/finger/shoulder pains and generally rest up for what I'm sure will be a challenging day in the saddle at Wildflower. Hopefully, I'll have time to get in a couple of short evening rides next week, but anything longer than 90 minutes or so is going to be on the back burner for a while.
So the hunt is on for some great short rides in the area. I can think of a couple that I'd love to do here in Simi (good stuff off the Long Ranch trailhead), and a few spots that I'm interested in simply exploring (Corriganville Park).
