Running on Empty
I came back from vacation weighing 188 lbs., which is too much. I'm creeping ever-so-slowly upward again. Most of that's muscle, but the post-vacation pudge is definitely not. So I'm aiming to drop 3-5 lbs in the next month or so. I'll be happy when I'm weighing in consistently south of 185. (Well, I'll be satisfied. I'll be happy when I get back down to 175.)
So, I'm doing the usual: no sweets except on weekends or special events, etc. I've purged the house of any deserts or sugary snacks, and I'm taking my coffee black.
As always, this is driving home the sheer volume of calories I suck down in sugar. I'm hungry every morning when I wake up. My regular breakfast carries me from 7am until about 10am, and then it's a long wait for lunchtime. Same thing after lunch. My stomach starts growling around 3pm, and my regular Clif bar only holds me until 5 or so. Which is a problem, since I typically don't eat dinner on weeknights until 9:30pm or later.
So, time to stock my desk with healthy snacks. Gotta do something about this feeling of always running on empty.
