Sick Movies
I was home sick yesterday with a gnarly (yet thankfully short-lived) cold. I watched a few movies.
- Star Wars: Clone Wars
-
Aeon Flux-style action. Almost totally mindless. Great stuff. Only had Vol. 1 on hand. Vol. 2 will be on its way from Netflix shortly.
- Frontline: My Father, my Brother, and Me
-
This episode of PBS's Frontline covers the current state of affairs surrounding Parkinson's Disease, an incurable, degenerative neurological disorder. I am more pissed than ever at GWB for blocking stem cell research.
- How I Met Your Mother
-
I watched a couple episodes of this. Marshall and Lilly made me tear up. I love that this series revolves around love, friendship, and loyalty. I think that's what makes all the happy endings believable.
- The Big Lebowski
-
The fog of fever and headache was lifting by this point, and I wanted something really meaty to watch. So I pulled out one of my all-time favorite movies: The Big Lebowski. Still a work of genious after all these years. I refuse to believe that great film has to be "serious" film where everyone's all tortured all the time. As if laughter and rediculousness isn't a part of the human condition.
- The West Wing
-
I put this on while waiting (and waiting) for the TyPM to kick in. Not to downplay the series, or my affection for it. I've just seen it so many times that I knew I wouldn't torture myself trying to stay awake to watch it. I got to see Sam get his ass kicked by Ainsley Hayes, and C.J. yell where there are people, so it was a good night.
