Pushing Paper

I've gotta find a good way of keeping up with all the paper that comes into my house. Bills get squared away quickly, but everything else lingers. I've spent nearly the whole afternoon stuffing paper into my shredder, and I'm nearly done.

I don't know what to tell you since our desk is always buried under a mountain of paper. We did set up the shredder in the kitchen so I get stuff shredded every couple of weeks when I have a small pile, rather than waiting until it's a mountain. Ideally, we'd shred as stuff came in, but with the boys, I can't leave it plugged in.

I've come to the conclusion that the biggest reason I have a problem processing my mail is that I don't have a place for it once it's processed. Time to invest in a proper filing cabinet, and a shredder that can handle a fully-stuffed envelope in one go. If I can process the day's mail while dinner is in the microwave, I think I've got a shot at avoiding the mountainous buildup.
