Monday night I cribbed a route sheet from Ventura County Trails.org and rode a classic local loop that I'd never tried before, up the Rosewood trail to the picknick table, then west down Lost Robles Trail East (AKA "Space Mountain") to the trailhead. Rocky Peak is still your one-stop shop for leg-shredding climbs, but Rosewood has something Rocky Peak doesn't: a combination of scenery, singletrack, and speed (alliteration unintentional) that will make even the most jaded mountain biker's heart go pitter-pat.

I took lots of photos on this trip, partly because the scenery was so wonderful, but mostly so that I can have a personal map of the area. The one at the trailhead is virtually useless for bikers.
