Two Great Rides
On Thursday night I took Henri to the park for a little while, then headed out to Cheeseboro Canyon for a very quick spin. I had hoped that I'd be able to make it out to Shepherd's flat and back before dark, but I headed out just after 7:00, and there just wasn't time. But I managed to ride the Modelo trail, which I'd never done before, and had a lot of fun just enjoying the ride and the smell and the stillness of dusk in the canyons.
Tonight I had a little more time, and so I squeezed in a spin up Rosewood and down Space mountain. My quads burned a bit heading up, but I reached the lookout above the picknick bench in just a little over record time. So I took a quick breather, and set out eastward along the Los Robles Trail West.
I was disappointed to discover that one of my favorite features of the trail, a gnarly rocky section that I've been working on but hadn't yet mastered, is no more. It's been smoothed out, and is but a shadow of its former self. Not sure why it was done, but there it is. Rode it (downhill) first try today, no challenge at all.
