Hillary Rosen finds DRM "Cruel and Unfriendly"
Former RIAA President Hilary Rosen has written an op-ed piece in which says that her iPod's DRM is "cruel" and "anti-consumer". She goes on:
But keeping the iTunes system a proprietary technology to prevent anyone from using multiple (read Microsoft) music systems is the most anti-consumer and user unfriendly thing any god can do.
My cup of schadenfreude runneth over.
But seriously, the EFF needs to recruit this woman now. If she could be turned, she would make a powerful ally.
[Update] Erg. My cup of oblivious runneth over, too. Totally missed that "The Huffington Report" launched today, and that Rosen's rant is just a little bit of internet marketing genious. So my initial instincts about Rosen finally "getting it" are totally off, and I'm back to thinking that the RIAA and their lackies will say anything to get their way.
