An E-Book Reader I'd Buy
The Hanlin eBook V2
looks extremely cool. (more renderings)
Evidently, it's a complete reader (PDF, txt, HTML, etc.) with an E_Ink
display. Dimentions are 194mm(L) x 133.6mm(W) x 13.4mm(H), which makes
it a nice size for reading books, and should give it a truly enviable
battery life. And it's sans DRM, which opens up some nice
possibilities. (An entire series of novels to take on
vacation, in less space and weight than a single installment in
paperback!)
But here's the thing about digital "e-book" thingies: If I only store one book on the thing, then I'd rather just carry the book with me. If I store a bunch of documents on it, then I'd rather have all the text-processing and searching power of a laptop. E-books are out-flanked, I think.
But give me a laptop that runs on AA batteries and has an E_Ink display, and I'm all over it. That's battery life I can love.
