A while back, Charlie Boorman and Ewan McGreggor hopped on a pair of motorcycles and rode around the world, heading east from London and ending up in New York. They took a cameraman along, and did video diaries, and created something really amazing: Long Way Round. This is what reality TV was supposed to be.

The series aired as just 7 episodes, the last one being little more than a highlights reel from their trip across North America. My friends and I were left breathless. What? That's it?!

In yet another wonder of entertainment industry brain damage, the complete, 10-episode series has been released on DVD in the UK, and Canada, but not in the US.

I'm sure there's a catch here somewhere. I'll just have to try ordering the thing and see.
