Shoe Shopping
My Mythos are starting to go out at the toes, so I'll have to send 'em off to be resoled in a few weeks. Which means I have two choices: climb on my old, blown-out Mojaves, or get some new shoes.
You can see where this is going, I'm sure.
Just for grins, I tried on the new, more masculine Mythos (they've updated the color from purple to an earthy orange color), and it was like coming home. Love that fit. But why have two of the same shoe?
I tried on the Katana, which is, as expected, way too agressive for my taste. There's a fine line between "supportive" and "footbinding," y'know?
The day's surprise favorite is Mad Rock's Flash. Amazingly good fit for a velcro closure, and it felt plenty sensitive. And at $70, these are a steal. I've avoided Mad Rocks for a couple years after getting a set that were horrible. The Flash has made me a fan again.
I want to check out some Acopas before making a decision. We'll see how that goes. But man, those Flashes surprised me.
