If you&#39;re using Windows, go fuck yourself. &quot;&lt;p&gt;Classy.&lt;p&gt;As if Linux people need reminding on backups.  It&#39;s the home Windows users that need this reminder.  I just gave a presentation on home backups 2 weeks ago to a group of about 75 people.  They were *shocked* when I put up a slide with great big letters saying &quot;EVERY HARD DRIVE WILL EVENTUALLY CRASH&quot;.&lt;p&gt;With 1TB usb HD&#39;s going for under $100, there&#39;s no reason not to have home backups.

          Yeah, I&#39;m dissappointed that he threw that in. The rest is so good that it sticks out as being in really poor taste.&lt;p&gt;But the basics of his advice are really sound, which is why I linked to it.
