Bad dreams woke me up early this morning, and I couldn't get back to sleep. Luckily, it was 6am rather than 4am, so I just got up, took my lazy time getting ready, and got to work much earlier than usual. Net result: I got out of the office earlier than usual, and had some time to play this evening.

I took my mountain bike out to Cheesebro and raced the sun. I headed out along the canyon trail at about 5:45, and pedaled like crazy for nearly 90 minutes. Up the Sulpher Springs trail to Shepherd's Flat, then west up all those crazy climbs to the Palo Comado fire road, and back south and up to the Modelo Trail along the ridge. I walked one section: the nasty, rocky thing before Shepherd's Flat, but I did take a run at it. And I got everything else, which is really satisfying. and as much as I'm learning, I feel like I may get it soon. Great fun.

I was wearing my usual involuntary grin rolling down Palo Comado, and passed a rider going the other way. I directed my grin his way and called out hello, but he continued frowning and just grunted. I worry about people like that.
